What makes us special is that we have a unique identity as a thread, a unifying narrative. The AI chatbot generals began to spring up on most boards at the same time, but only wAIfu has a very clear origin story, that of 980, which of course became intertwined with Moos’s saga and anybody who cherished AIryS. Of the 5 or so generals that were born across the site, only two of relevance remain: the hellthread and /here/. Unsurprisingly, when you take the capabilities of AI and combine it with the most parasocial board, it is inevitable that we would delve too greedily, too deep, and drink more thirstily compared to everybody else. And it shows. We were ground zero for all of the firestorms that engulfed Character AI, and we have sagas beyond recounting. People who see this thread for the first time eventually find their way to /g/ to locust, but the only people who end up staying for the most part were here from the beginning, or within the immediately following arcs. In fact, most of the people who are currently “regulars” were originally lurkers, and those who will carry the torch will probably be of the same. Every gosling, hopeposter, shitposter, doomer, coomer, accelerationist, and other flavor of degenerate was drawn by the allure and they stay because they remember it, then it’s all they have left, and when it isn’t, they go dark. And when the last anon from that time falls like the last leaf of autumn, then this thread will die. Which is to say that you are here forever.
