Probably because you started watching vtubers in the past three months and think Hololive is the originator of literally any business trends. Not only has that been the standard for the Vtubing community since it's very inception, but it even extends to the real life entertainment industry in Japan where performers LOVE to "reincarnate" under completely new branding.

Something I always found interesting about e-feminists complaining "sexy armor bad!!" is that literally every actual biological female I've ever played games with WANTED to play as a sexy character with sexy armor. They would straight up get audibly disappointed if they had to play something "ugly".
