Probably because male vtubers had no audiences by that point and he managed to capitalize on a niche that no westerners knew existed, and didn't wanna change off of that for fear of losing money. Nearly transparent hustling like that is the only respectable thing his entire shitshow of a company has done, can't even be mad about it.
