To both write and read fags, isn't it much weirder for you considering these are real people?
For regular fake characters, you can easily apply your own opinion of their personality, background or hidden secrets and no one can really argue with you as they don't really have a "true" personality.
For real people however there is a true reality and almost no writer is going to be able to capture that reality, the product is going to always seem like a copy from a mirror world where everything isn't just quite right.
