One of my favourite pastimes is taking ancient stuff like that and look at it through a modern, anime influenced, lens. It really highlights how little we changed.

Though I admit I am a bit perplexed at why the spear wielding horse riding hero went away. Asian cultures always loved their sword heroes, but indo-europeans used to like spears. I wonder why it went away.
