Going after shinies (shiny hunt streams) and doing challenge streams (or well known challenging games in general) is by far the best method to farm subs as a holo.
I'm not gonna say FBK is doing it intentionally (>narrator voice: She is), but the amount of subs she got since she started doing shiny hunt is interesting to say the least.
Theres a couple of things that help with that:
>subscriber-mode: If you want to say something on chat, you need to subscribe to her. That alone pumps subs by a lot and I'm surprised other holos don't use it.
>doing it everyday to create a sense of "Sufferkino": Both JP and EN audiences love streams where the holo subjects himself to hitting his head on the wall for many hours (see: Jump King)
>the Gacha element and FOMO: She might get it at any time, and many people don't want to miss that moment so they leave the stream open. Streams with high CCV attract more and more new people, that will end up subscribing thanks to subscriber mode.
Its a perfect loop of user interaction with popular content and I'm surprised only Mori does some of this in EN.
