I am American I'm just retarded and tired today. I wouldn't say Nijisanji is cheap, it's more of a 'streamers doing whatever" deal. They can be cheap as in they only hand you your model and an iPhone and release you into the wild (with a manager) otherwise they spend quite a shitton of money for their livers. There's corpo stuff like shill streams and some game shows/tournaments, otherwise the tournaments are made up by the livers themselves like Gwelu's ad-lib contest. Their concerts cost quite a lot to make too and there's a ton of them happening all the time, free or paid. The fact that they can do almost whatever they want as long as they ask staff is nice too. Noraneko is free to force her manager to stir natto on stream for hours. The recent Niji rock revolution concert was brought up by the participants and it was in the works for months. 3D debuts are purely at the whim of the featured vtuber, if they want to do poses in a blank space, play pachinko for 45 minutes, sing, or create an entire pre recorded horror segment they can do that.
