we did discuss that last thread(s), honk or the devchamas didn't react to it yet, here's the gist of the situation:
- currently the site uses .svg vectors of emoji in twitter-style which are easy to get and globally normed across platforms, the only exception to this is the hololive logo which is a .png of Cover's logo, it makes sense to use these because they scale infinitely well thanks to being .svg vectors (whoever disagrees look up what an "oshi mark" is and lurk forever)
- right now we have two doubling icons: rushia/nabi as well as shion/civia
- there's also inconsistencies in icons used, Mio and Fubuki are represented by Wolf and Fox respectively, despite their oshi marks being Corn (kon-kon-ki~tsune) and an Evergreen Tree (resembling Mio's hair) respectively. Meanwhile, Pekora is shown by her actual oshimark, which is the ugly double bunny girl emote which is way too small to make out in detail on the site, so a rabbit or a carrot would make much more sense.
- the point being, if we break consistency anyways, might as well give peckers something nice to look at, or the other way around, would be better to replace Fubumio with their actual oshimarks.
If we go the way of freestyling icons we could freely tackle Nabi and Civia as well, some people suggested the pen she uses in her bio and in official avatar art and for civia I dunno how about flag_cn?

membership emotes and icons are not paywalled at all, you can get them easily from the "become a member" page. Problem is some of them use absolutely small .pngs (see okayu for instance) and there's too many of them to stay neutral.

Realistically will only happen when honk and the team implement sporadic auto-buy for x coins, the combined 125 hours mogu put into buying okayun plus what he bought after 500 (~another 10-12 hours) and the sheer volume of money involved makes this quite the achievement.
