Why are you getting so worked up with this? You're under the false assumption that we have a metric that beats all other metrics when comparing vtubers. Each number needs a context to make sense of it.
In your example you're talking about the total viewers of that group, which is a completely different metric. If we get the median for it we're likely going to end up with a 3-view number, which is also a different metric.
Both have their own uses. Getting the median of a group measures the approximate mean by excluding outliers e.g. Pekora, Kuzuha
Nijisanji's median of median peak CCVs of 1.2k means that their streamers are closer to this range than on Kuzuha's CCVs, which is apparent if you're going to eyeball it.
VSPO besting Nijisanji on this metric just shows that on average VSPOs streamers are more talented than Nijisanji.

To those who care, I think it's safe to say now that VSPO is way better than NijiJP girls both in terms of median of median peak CCV and mean of media peak CCV.
