I'll let you in on a little secret. Checking the "YouTube Stream" tab of poi at adjustment is often times more beneficial than checking poi once numbers are in for the evening. You can see numbers for overnight streams that didn't get counted in adjustment, and see who's live, or who has frames up.
Every grug with half a pulse is going to buy dips right back up to where they dipped from anyways. You want to figure out which dips are worth buying longer, buying light, selling before adjustment, or just not touching.

the problem is, the basis on which the market is created is the channels of hololive & friends. Youtube-Interest wise, VTubers ARE in a bubble, normies are waking up to them, pandemic measures are still in effect in many places (including Japan because of the olympics) so you generally have numbers going UP rather than down. People rarely unsubscribe on Youtube. Hololive is a bunch of cross-pollinating channels introducing you to more and more of their cast via collabs. So the basis for the market is UP.
The "Boggening" was an attempt to curb that by tying price changes to viewer count trends, which sounds good on paper and I'll go as far as saying it may be the best thing to do to get SOME market dynamic, but it led to red WEEKS which one has to properly prepare for - that won't work for us dopamine junkies. So people complained.
To summarize, I agree with you. I think this is a mid-step to shut people up until the devs try something else. To clarify, not a dev here, just a humble polkrates lurking.
