Bishie anime boy design has always been the staple of niji since forever though, weirder or even just baralike designs are always outliers and mostly debuted around the time when ichikara was spamming as many livers as possible so they don't need to worry about widespread appeal
For what it's worth I think it's fine to want some variations in nijiEN designs, I also kinda want a shota or two too, plus some way cunnier girls preferably. But bishonen-dominated EN design isn't some kind of outlier, it exists in JP too
