I'm finding it a bit hard to find a good image but you can kinda see it here. The g402 side has a slightly deeper curve and the buttons are curved nicely with it. So if you wanted to press them you just gently slid your thumb up and you'd slide into whichever one you were aiming for with no effort. While with the g502 the button press you have to slide up and then push the button. It's a minor complaint but the g402 design for this was much nicer.

Turns out I'm using a hero and I didn't even realise there was actually different variations of this mouse besides having a wireless variant.
