I kinda started imagining this in a more standard non-shippy guild setting for something bittersweet. Imagine Axel getting close to the first iteration of Magni he met and becoming really close friends with him. There comes a time where he kinda fucks up as a tank and that version of Magni dies. His guilt of not being able to save him weighs on him for a while, only to find out that another clone takes the place of the Magni he lost. Ever the optimist, he convinces himself it's the same old Magni with his old memories intact but he will never be THAT Magni. He makes more fun memories with him and all's good for a while. Then, it happens again and again and again and he keeps hanging on but somewhere deep within him he can never truly save him. Pretty rough concept at the moment, gonna iron it out. Tag: Mindbreak (but slow damage over time)
