Talonflame is a gay metapick because he was overpowered and broken, but he wasn't based. If you saw a Talonflame in a team, you knew it was because the trainer was a smogon nerd copying strats from the internet.

Staraptor was just a solid pokemon without being broken, when you saw it on a team it was because he was good enough and also the trainer just liked him, and that makes him based.

At this point I consider MPP to be important for the Part of my Portfolio under 500 coins, anything else I just hoard like no tomorrow because the avg shifts like 2-5 dollar even when you buy $3k over MPP.
So yeah, whether MPP is important or not is right now in a fucking Superset of yes AND no.
