So I’ve been watching everyone on here and every other Vtuber/Hololive community have a complete fucking mental breakdown about this chick, and in that time I think I’ve figured out what it is about her that makes everyone so completely insane. It’s not her big titty goth design, it’s not her personality, it’s not her weird eccentricities and it’s not her being vaguely slutty. At lleast, these aren’t the main reasons. The main reason Shiori brings out this psychosis in people is because of one thing; you can’t have her.
Since she debuted, she’s been openly taking people off guard by how different she is. She’s said right off the bat she’s gonna collab with whoever she wants (this probably includes guys), she’s a giant nerdy bookworm, she introduces herself with a joke comment about being *your* goth girlfriend, and she lists off her husbandos. We can glean from this entire stream that she’s straight as a fucking ruler (despite some flirting with other Holo girls) which plays into this obsession with her.
In her next few streams, she showcases how kinda unhinged she is. There’s glimpses of this in the stuff about her eating with scissors, but the microscope stream cements this; she’s fucking weird as shit and proud of it. The comments about wanting your cells play into this.
She KNOWS that she’s weird, sort of odd and unhinged, and unpredictable. That just makes you want her more. You want to find out more about this fucking weird virtual goth girl who likes reading books and studying dead bugs, it’s new and different, and that makes her exciting. But you can’t have her. And she knows that.
She’s teasing you (the viewer) with comments about fixing her, knowing you can’t. She talks about breaking you in the process, knowing she knows more about herself than you do.
She KNOWS she’s hot and mysterious and crazy and unpredictable. She knows you wanna explore her more, but you can’t. She knows you can’t, which is why she teases you. It’s where the “I LOVE HER I HATE HER I CAN’T STOP THINKING ABOUT HER” stuff comes from. You hate her for teasing you so much with how vaguely slutty and seductive she is, but you also love her because she’s such an enigma you think you can maybe have an impact on.
