I see you're picking up what I'm putting down.
That's precisely what I was getting at.
Get someone who's got the raw experience and skill to just *kill* games... then make them do something that isn't that but adjacent enough said skills & experience are still being used.

I gotta finish that VOD. Apex filters me bad and I wish people that like playing it would switch to Titanfall 2 or Valorant (neither of those are my favourite games but good players make them good whereas even competitive-level Apex is just decent, and it degrades BAD if the player is not top of the line), but what I managed to catch of it live made it good for exactly the dynamic you described.

If it were up to me I'd probably tap the following three the most:
-Platformer speedrunners
-Competitive street fighter players
-Competitive KoF players

Has a close-enough weeb connection, ensures high (albeit, considering the genre, degraded) twitch reflexes and should translate into a variety of other things people want to watch.
