So today's stream proves that Haato acting more like Haachama is part of the lore, and not just something she's doing for non-lore streams. It's like the time that she lost control of herself and ate a bite of the sushi, except now she isn't waking up afterward. I was hoping she would wake up during the R18 part of the stream since it would've been cute, but I digress.
I'm really interested to see how the COEXIST streams will change. The first time travel arc ran out of steam quickly because there was nothing really interesting at it's core. She thought she was in August 2020, sure, but why does that matter? Nothing that had changed with her between the actual August 2020 and then was relevant enough to make me wonder how it would affect the stream. It was all just things that were good for one bug-eyed moment each, like her costume changing and holoEn existing. With nothing forcing her to change the streams, she had to rely on outside factors (Kuukiyomi 3 releasing) and the concept itself to try to keep each stream interesting. It worked for the one week that the arc lasted, but I wouldn't be excited to do it again if it was going to be the same exact deal.
This new arc is different: Haachama being dead and Haato being alive but less in control than ever is completely different from how things originally were, so the streams will have to be different to account for that. Like, how are we going to revive Haato if there's nothing physically wrong with her? The only way I can think of would be giving her body back to her by exorcising all of the Haachama out of it, which I don't know if she'll do because then Haachama really will be dead. I think we're likely to get something completely different, which is fine as long as it bears relevance to the original. The worst thing I could see her doing is reviving Haachama and having her act how Haato acted in February to contrast with how Haato acts now. If that happens then this really would be a repeat of the original time travel arc. I wanna say she won't do that since she appears to have gotten better at pacing, but still it wouldn't be the first time that she does something cool only to reverse it at the first opportunity.
