Think of it this way:
Gura is the vtuber equivalent of watching capeshit. Inoffensive, uncontroversial, and the flashy colors are appealing to normies. Draws in the biggest crowds of any movies.
Ame is the vtuber equivalent of watching movies that expect a little bit more from their audience, in return for much, much greater payoff provided they actually can follow the film. They don't always draw the biggest crowds, but they're the movies that people actually remember years down the line.
