Yes, that's exactly the issue. The blue eye with the red lens winds up with essentially two colors inside the lens while the red eye with the blue lens has three very distinct colors and it creates a massive imbalance. Looking at the source pic it appears that there should be much more sclera apparent between her pupil and nose. Seems the alpha properties of the two colors are not at all even.
