Hardly. If you open them and look inside you'll see they do the same thing as yacc, which in itself did the same thing as other older tools. If anything they have a nicer interface.

TL;DR is that languages never follow their rules every single time; English in particular considers its rules more like guidelines that can be broken anytime as long as the point come across.
Of course in any case breaking too many rules or guidelines will get you a strike, but in practice you will see even the smartest intellectuals deviate from what is told at school, intentionally or not.
