Something I think gets lost on people who have never been responsible for sales of physical goods at a business (i.e. most humans), is the difference between the price, gross margin, and payout. Saying that the chuuba get "1%" of the goods sold when the margin from COGS is 5% means the chuuba is getting 20% of the margin. I'm sure you all know that, but most people here don't seem to make that distinction.

However, I have done some ecommerce work, and I suspect that the margin is higher than 5% for fan goods like this.
To add some caveats to your comments, >>49136275: A lot of these goods are drop-shipped, and if they're not made-to-order, they can at least be ordered in smaller batches than traditional retail. There is MUCH lower loss from unsold inventory than traditional retail, where you order in increments of 10k, have to warehouse them all for an indeterminate time, and hope you cover the cost of what you don't sell. That makes some kinds of merch have a much higher margin than even the same category of item in physical retail.
That, plus pricing at a premium as all brand/fan goods do (e.g. sports team merch), I would not be surprised if they were getting 10-15% margin on things like acrylic stands, so the chuuba getting 2% of the revenue might be as much as 20% of the margin.

I don't know what the "industry standard" would be, but I get the feeling some bozos here are interpreting it as "talent gets 2%, company keeps 98%" when it's really "talent gets 2%, company gets 8%" over COGS.
