The idea that Austrians aren’t German was a historical revisionism strategy employed by the entire Austrian state after WW2 from far left to far right parties unanimously because it was convenient for them to distance themselves from nazi germany as much as they could by acting like they were just another invaded country, and over the decades they indoctrinated the people into believing they’re a different people from Germans which is obviously absolutely ridiculous to anyone who knows anything about history and german culture.
