Moona, if you're using a dynamic mic, try to look into mic activators. It basically boosts your gain from phantom power, so you can get good volume without having to crank the gain to 11 on the mixer and reduces the noise.

I personally use fethead, but cloudfilter, which is the most popular and reliable one, also works.
