you are both partially correct and wrong. 2 months before Coco graduated youtube gave her a special chat filter that blocked all the chinamen seemingly by not displaying chat messages sent through VPNs. this gave coco a normal chat for a few months but the spam never stopped, the chinaspammers continued spamming into the void right up until she graduated. they literally had a coco-spam based community that talked about spam and shared messages to spam and made memes about spamming. and they only stopped because the spam movement had infighting after coco graduated.
