Honestly, if you're going to go with an SSD, it's better to go for higher capacity, as higher capacity drives will have larger amounts of cache, which keeps the performance up. If you compromise with a smaller SSD, you can end up with that issue of slowing down as it fills up, where a larger one will keep going just fine.
