Only Vei "lost" her 3d, he went to 2d after debut. Granted, it is one of the best 2d's I've ever seen but her old 3d model is just so her, really reflects her inner gremlin.
Zen got 2d in Vshojo debute but soon dropped it for 3d.
Silver and Melody are getting 2ds as well, though obviously Melody is not replacing her 3d with it.
Snuffy/Mouse owns both 2d and 3ds and uses them at random (which I like, good compromise).
As for why: First of all, 2d is easier model for collabs and secondly it is easier to stream with (no equipment). Thirdly, anime/weeb aestetics.
