The fact you spend half your time at work doing nothing is still emotionally draining since it hits home just how meaningless your work is. The realization you're wasting away 1/3 of your life doing something that is of completely no value to society or even to your employer really fucks the average wagecuck's mental health. The capitalist economic structure of people needing to work and be productive to survive becomes entirely meaningless when the work itself is meaningless. It also makes clear that your employer themselves don't value you or your time at all. At that point just give people UBI or let them work from home if you're gonna waste half their day on worthless bullshit.
