heisiggers who actually made it through have sunken cost bias since it's hard to accept that they wasted hundreds of hours that could have been spent just learning to read right away. in the time it takes to learn what 2200 kanji look like and mean in an english abstract they could have done core2k and had a sentence mining deck well under way.
