It's probably because there isn't much description(or I missed it entirely) on the actual method used so I'm imagining how actual Aztecs do their sacrifices instead. They are meant to be around here. The map doesn't show it but I'm imagining they base in some smaller islands around here. Because /meat/ was recently devastated by Jannies they can't stop some sympathisers from occasionally supplying them.

Here they exclusively target merchants or even some /meat/ settlements, maybe. Their goal is to fight and continue to do so as long as possible, the captives are most likely a bonus to them.
