Not true.
It's often believed that without Sora there would be no Hololive. And don't take my word for it, pic related is AZKi saying the same thing. Imagine knowing that without a single person all of the success you've had would not have been possible. As well as the fact that you would have never met your coworkers - some of whom you consider real life friends. I think you'd respect that person a lot.
Furthermore, Sora pioneered many aspects of Hololive. She was the first Hololive member to do a live, held the first Hololive concert, and she was the first Hololive member to produce not only covers, but original music as well. Her performance at Tubeout 1 also cemented Hololive as an Idol company.
Lastly I think people undersell Sora's talents. She's the only Holo I see listed as a contender for both the best singer and dancer in Hololive.

So no, the respect she gets isn't "fake".
