dedicated mahjong streamers (both flesh and vtubers) are pretty big on the JP side of things
it's a game that lends itself well to both chat interaction or being background noise
after a certain level of competency, playing jong is about keeping your cool and having a good mental game in the face of inevitable bullshit
playing "perfectly" yet still getting fucked over by the game leads to great reactions too
