I'm pretty sure the YT dashboard isn't just ad revenue but includes membership revenue as well. This was before they implemented gift memberships as well.

If you assume she got 1.2m views that month(40k channel views a day, which is about average) it'd be $3600 ad revenue at $3/1000. Then if you include 1000 members at $6/member it's another $6000 which totals to $9600 which is close to what she earned.
Now she obviously has more than 1000 members but lots of people(at least 20%) use adblock so those factors probably cancel eachother out.

Since Maria's average viewership is also ~40,000 views a day it's probably pretty close to her current earnings.
