Hololive (the JP branch) is slightly down from their all time high point reached on the 16th but, by chaining the Minecraft arc and lifting most of the girls willing to participate, they are still over a 13k average.

This will come down when the marvelous first week of January falls out of range (taking away all of those 100k+ streams) but it is still impressive.

I say there was one event that was pivotal for Holos to bounce back from a continuous recline which I attribute to the kaigai crowd checking out of the fandom

It was released on May 21st 2021 and it was one of the moments that helped galvanize Hololive, from a set of disjointed fanbases, into a single coherent thing.
