I still find it a little funny how that image got so fucking stitched up and down, to the point that the actual EN branch was fractured in the art because every time someone made an edit, retards tried to edit out the ones they didn't like, and people had to re-add them to later editions if they started from a doctored template.
I also remember how absurd it was that anons complained about "sharing a board with westerners," when /jp/ was the host to /wvt/ for most of it's life, and how it only stopped being there after the fucking cursed debut stream that caused Kiara to insta-unfollow them as soon as she heard their voice.

I've noticed that it can't be just anything to grab the interest of people here, though. As much as I love hot Polka art, it isn't what got me into watching her again after the first week or so of Gen 5, that's for sure.
What caught me was the anon who posted the translation snippets of her Member's ASMR. It was something that was close to the heart. I think that's what catches the collective's attention the most; something from the heart. An act of will, a gentle thanks, or a touching praise.
Looking at the things that have gained exceptional attention so far, in my experience here:

It was getting a bit slower even on /jp/. Building and releasing the hype of both a new song and a 3D debut stream in such a close timespan will do that to people.
But from what I can tell, most of us are still here. It's just natural for every manic stage to have a matching quiet stage. Sometimes it's nice to enjoy your oshi in peace for a while.

If you already have your oshi, anon, you're very unlikely to leave them. You may be fans of other girls, but you won't change oshi so easily.
There are lots of girls that I love to watch, think about, read about. But there is only one girl I want to carry to the top of the mountaintop. That should be your mindset, too.
