I didn't mean to say it was better really, just that it's a good way to see the difference because it's an area where there is always room to try and cram in even more detail if your resolution is good enough.

With the hires fix option in the main generate tab, it uses the same seed + prompt, so the overall composition tends to stay mostly the same when you upscale there. Everyone's workflow is a little different but I like to generate a bunch of images at my smaller res (often but not always 512x768) and then upscale the ones that I like the general appearance of. Experiment some and find settings you like, referencing catbox links other people post is good for this too since you can see their settings.
