It's not dying but, I just read about this Italian soccer club - AC Milan who got new American owner and change focus in a way Nijisanji is.
They sold or fired all of their old legends and are getting only cheap, young players, to grow and sell again when they get to to like 23-25 years old.
A talent factory.

Will be good money for the owners but, old fans hate it, and new fans aren't formed because they'll just follow the players they like when they leave.
