Hololive became a fan favorite because it did something different: welcoming in MALE aifags and dotlive stragglers. Mainstream appeal came later. Niji EN didn't target any untapped niche until Luxiem, at which point they hard filtered men by appealing to women. The fact is, there's a difference between a space where male fans are the ones both the vtubers and aspiring vtubers are trying to appeal to, and one where we're taken for granted because all the women are too busy clamoring to deepthroat male vtubers. At that point, why would we even bother sticking around if we're not the center of attention? If the women already have male vtubers, let the male vtubers and their audiences support female nijis.

I'm sorry to break it to y'all, but gender ain't a social construct and men have a different mating strategy than women. While women like guys who already have tons of women, women who already have tons of guys around them are a waste of an investment. This is reality, and anyone who says otherwise is either lying or coping.
