The stage is 10 wide . Blocks are either 2, 3 or 4 long, 1 if the long piece is vertical. She typically builds in 8 width so she can quickly clear by filling the last 2. It's all addition. Add numbers to 8 repeatedly then add to 10. I've always done mental math by visualizing them as shapes too.
