Dont archive, just putting it here to remember, might repost in next thread
Matsurisu:
>Worship the Festival God Matsuri
>Culture is a mix of traditional japanese with a tad of Dionysian mega festivals
>Festival is a goddess of passions, love, and desire, so sex is non restrictive and marriage bonds aren't necessarily broken by infidelity, though nobody is open about being a cheater since their wife might go full menhera and stab them to death in the streets
>as a god of passion, Matsuri was for a long time possessed of the Menhera which caused great turmoil for the Matsurisu as well as the many divine pantheonic connections she'd established
>this menhera sickness has some trace remnant in the Matsurisu and is seen both as a blessing and as a curse.
>Matsurisu use their frequent celebrations as to venerate Matsuri so that she may spare them of the menhera madness and to grant them fortune but these are done just as much to keep the population occupied.
>Matsurisu consider the tanning of their skin a source of pride that represents one's liveliness and temperament, Festival Priests, experienced warriors, and veteran drunks all boast their tanned skinned to be a show of Matsuri's personal favor.
>Raiding and bandit parties are somewhat common when a large festival has not been held for sometime and war itself is considered only one celebration amongst the many of festivals domain. In Festival Raids or War Festivals, Matsurisu indulge themselves on the spoils of war and loot, pillage, and rape to sate their appetites.
>Land is owned by Festival Lords in a somewhat feudal system, Festival Lords once warred against each other in violent war festivals until they were united under a Festival King who threw such immense and great Festivals that they brought the warring lords together. Hence forth, a Festival king governed over the Festival lands for as long as there were festivals of such greatness that the quelled the spirits of their vassal lords.
>Festival Kings are obligated to throw opulent and fantastic festivals for their lords and a Festival King who cannot reward loyal service with festivities is expected to host raiding parties to plunder or collaborate with foreign nations in some great endeavor. A festival king cannot lie complacent and those Festival Lords who find that they're more capable than the one who rules them are known to rebel and take the seat of their lord by force. While the highest seat in the Festival lands is known as the Festival King, the position can be held by those of either sex and often times a king and their consort will rule equally or behind the face of another.
>the Festival priests are the second great power in the Festival lands though they differ greatly from their lordly counterparts. There is no great church for these men and women nor an official place of worship and they're bound by no laws save for those of the desires gifted upon them by the Mother of Festivities. These priests believe in a festival without end where all desires are sated and men can fight, frolick, and fuck until contented with no responsibilities to speak of. These priests seek to embody the unending festival in both mind and body and serve to dictate the preparations of great festivals and celebrations. Like many priests of other nations, they dabble in the magical nature of chuubanite and use its abilities to conjure weapons of war as well as trinkets for celebrations, hell crackers and star cannons both come from these hedonistic alchemist and many lords offer up the bodies of young girls and boys in exchange for a supply of these wonder weapons. Some particulars of the priesthood see Matsuri as the God above all others though this is a blasphemous belief in the company of most other faiths and the undermining of other cultures has in the past caused much grief to the Matsurisu.
Was gonna leave unanchored but kinda want some definitive thing down for Matsurisu as opposed to just leaving it up in the air.
Thoughts, critiques(outside of excessive use of the word festival), edits, and additions? Want some more Festival lore content to come in honor of that fat ass and since they've been mentioned since the beginning of the general with no real lore.
