Seems to be cutting income in half for JPY40M company employee income (seems to be progressive too).
Assuming Insurance + pension is 14%, income tax caps out at 40M and 25%, Resident tax is 8% (could be deducible with local produce purchases I heard), Coco made JPY26.3M or $240K a year. For a total of $360K for 1.5 years, not counting merch, roommate & deducible taxes.
