From what I have experienced, 95% of the battle is just putting in the effort. Of course there will be those who are just naturally talented and intelligent, but someone who studies hard will always beat those just coasting by on just their intelligence.
When I first got to uni, I was pretty much mogged by everyone and their knowledge about CS. But I put in the effort and I'm still going strong while a good bit have fallen out of the program.
Just be willing to work hard and make sacrifices.

It's not like I boycott Kadokawa on principle, the point is if they release something I genuinely like then I may give them money for it. I might buy a manga that has a personal connection for me even knowing it's giving Kadokawa money, but I won't give them money for something that I don't derive personal value out of. Because Ina is my oshi I don't mind giving her money, but I still use adblock and still leech every other Hololive member's content without giving them money, as I don't necessarily care if they succeed or fail.

In this way you're not just using your money to consume or pass time, but using it as a vote for what kind of content you want to see more of. This isn't me saying it's the only way you should behave or objectively correct, but it's at least one mindset that makes it not hypocritical to support Ina while pirating Holofes and other shit you don't feel as strongly towards.

It also means I don't care if other people pirate Ina's content because they have different priorities, and that just makes me closer to Ina as someone that does support her. If anything people who mindlessly buy every AAA game and pay full price for anime BD's and have 40+ Hololive memberships are soulless and part of why companies pump out soulless products, just to milk consumers. It makes the overall quality of content lower when creators know they can release garbage and be rewarded for it by people who have way less emotional connection for their $60 game purchase than I did for my $10 purchase of a game like Rabi-Ribi.
