I've found that I enjoy watching Fuuchan play games significantly more when I don't know anything about them. This is because my wife is like a magpie. He's smart but the moment he sees a shiny thing he's instantly distracted and never returns to his previous train of thought, meaning he misses tons of stuff. It's too frustrating if I know what stuff he's missed, especially if it's stuff I wanted to see him react to. On the other hand if I don't know jack about squat I can just enjoy his rambling commentary for what it is and his silly magpie brain is just cute.
