"Ugh..why can't I focus". Calli frustratedly sighs as she scribbles the lyrics she just wrote. Her notepad now full of words emanating a mystery yet familiar feeling to the Grim reaper's first apprentice. The feeling of one's first love.
The lyrics are all about a girl. A girl named Ninomae Inanis the Ancient One's one and only Eldritch priestess and Calliope Mori's genmate. She has been writing for about 2 hours now but all she can think of was the girl that's kept her distracted for the past months. She hasn't been able to hang out with her genmates or stream much because of how busy she is and being distracted doesn't help one bit.
She looks at her notepad and cringes rereading them. Calli was asked by her friend to write lyrics for her but the theme her friend wanted it to be was all about struggles in life... Meanwhile, Calli, on the other hand, has other things occupying her mind. Oh, fuck it. It might as well be a love song, I need to release this shit I'm feeling, or else I'm gonna go crazy. Calli thought as she grabbed her phone, contacting her friend about the lyrics.
And no, she still hasn't confessed her feelings to Ina yet after all these years but she promised herself she won't until she fixes herself. This is just one of those months all of Calli's bottled-up feelings reached their limits and that's why she's stressed right now. No one also knew about her feelings for Ina, but that's okay, it'll pass and everything will remain normal again as per the usual at least that's what the reaper thought
She looked at her clock. it reads 11:30 pm
Shit, I need to get this done by tonight Calli thought as she saw the confirmation from her friend. Sipping on her monster energy drink, she gets into serious mode.
Calli did manage to finish writing the lyrics for her friend and decided to finish her parts on the other projects she's working on because she still has "time" to, that might not be the best idea because after finishing it all at 4 am, she immediately passed out from exhaustion.

*Discord ringtone call*


Calli was abruptly woken up by a call from discord. Groaning as her body and head ache like hell while her throat is as dry as the Sahara desert. She feels like shit. It took a minute to open her heavy eyes, momentarily looking for her phone. While still in her dreamland, she answers the call not caring enough to check who called her this early in the morning. (It was 9 am)


"Hello?" Calli answered the call with a hoarse and deep voice.


".....Hi good morning Calli" Ina thought the reaper has already woken up, not expecting to be greeted by Calli's morning voice. Her delay in response confuses the reaper


"Ina..? You...good over there?" Calli groggily replied, it's been weeks since they talked to each other like this.


"Y-yeah, just thought you're already awake, I'm sorry for waking you up," Ina said remembering what she called Calli for


'Hmm… It's okay... Why are you calling so early in the morning anyway, Ina?" Calli just shrugs it off and decided to get directly to the point
"I'm sorry for having to wake you up for this but this is important.." Ina replied, her voice trailing


"Okay… what's it about?" Calli says before massaging her temple to lessen the pain her headache is giving her at the moment


"Which do you prefer: Pancakes or waffles?"


Calli groans at her question, making Ina chuckle. The priestess often calls Calli randomly and will say the randomest things ever but Calli doesn't mind it one bit, if anything she's happy that Ina is comfortable with her doing this.


"Ina.. did you really just wake me up for this-" her words cut off as her throat let out a few heavy coughs that have been wanting to let go since earlier, this, however, alerts the priestess.


"Calli? Are you okay?" Says Ina with a worried tone, her thought on breakfast completely washed away
Calli reached for her water bottle near her bed side and immediately drank it. Clearing her throat she replied "Yeah I'm good… just a little sick"
"Do you want me to come…visit you?"
Her house and Ina's are only a 15 minute drive so it's pretty close
"No it's okay Ina, you don't need to. I'm fine, just need a little more rest" Calli assured Ina but it didn't sound reassuring to the girl at all.
"I'm going to your house whether you like it or not. You have been neglecting your health and overworking yourself for the past months' Calli... I'm worried for you" Ina said sternly, her voice mixed with worry.
The girl can only sigh in defeat not wanting to argue anymore "... Okay". Honestly, Calli wants to be with someone right now, she hasn't hung out with her friends for the fast weeks and also she misses Ina the most right now.
