It tells me everything I need to know about them. The way they perform is more important than how they do it. I can tell if I can enjoy their streams by hearing them sing. If someone doing a tone-deaf karaoke manages to entertain me I know I can power through a boring game as well.
It also servers me as quality control. I expect them to get better. If I don't see progress after some months I drop them. I won't support anyone who isn't doing their best.
