You've never posted on /jp/ then. Go through the archived /jp/ hololive threads from 2019. There was literally only one guy who shat on the holostars and he would get instantly dogpilled by the entire thread for being an annoying faggot. The mods would even dunk on the guy and he ended up getting doxxed and turned out to be a mod for admiral bulldog, a guy named j_god. He didn't start to get support until myth debuted, that's when anti homo posters started rapidly gaining in numbers and started to outnumber the pro homo mods.

I remember back in the good old days of /jp/ literally no one lost their minds at male vtubers except for one faggot who got outed as a mod for AdmiralBulldog. This guy would shit up threads during homo hours and sperg the fuck out while everyone just shat on him.
