I'm a metalfag and I don't know shit about rap and vocaloid before watching HoloMyth, so I don't know shit about music either. All I know is this sounds good to my ears despite not being my usual set of genres, and I'm more than happy to learn new things. Nigga I've been playing for more than a decade and have been running for half. HunterMyth is a more accurate representation on what a typical game goes (and still put on a sow) compared to Critical Role and that putrid series creating horrible expectations to newfags. Mori's adventure seeds are infinitely better than most 5e choo choo games. All four of them are absolute newfags, and each of them expressed their newness in different ways. It's not a game by Professional RPG Players TM, but a bunch of girls being wrangled by an autist aka; true home game experience.

Vidya gaems do ruin your experience in TTRPGs. Different genres ruin you in different ways. Some are easier to unlearn their bad habits than others and MMO/MOBA players are absolutely unsalvagable. JRPG players tend to be linear and story-driven, and can get really passive and just wait for the GM to throw stuff at them. But they are nonetheless good players because they're obedient(albeit boring sometimes) and respect enough for the story to play along in its logic. Book readers and WRPG/open-world gamers make better players though since the former has a point of reference other than vidya, and the latter understands the value and power of personal agency.

I like Mori's style and it's great to introduce to absolute noobshits and showcase to the world alternatives to DnD, but it's pretty much damn hectic for my tastes. But I suppose that's the way it's gonna be since she's streaming for thousands of people to be entertaining AND sell a system.

I've been playing for 13 years and that's how my group always does things. And I've been surfing /tg/ since inception. We pick up absolute newfags and introduce them to the hobby and have a policy to never invite people who played before, especially the ones who had DnD as their first RPG. We've spread out now and have our own games, introducing other absolute newfags to the hobby.
