I've been going down a bit of a writing rabbit hole, and I've got to ask. This is probably really only directed towards very few individuals from here, but I ask nonetheless.

Do you enjoy the generic setting tropes (Tolkien-esque fantasy for example), or do you write them because it's what is familiar? Have you no desire to branch out, try something unique and make it something of your own? Every time I see something fun, I get the desire to try something new myself, I just haven't done it because I'm not someone who dedicates large amounts of time to writing, so I don't have the time for it. What about (You)?
