It's actually very easy to keep your job and get ahead in any organization; all you need to do is just flatter your superiors.
Literally. You have bedshitters likes enna and enna's friend who can't go a week without shitting everything, and they keep their jobs because they are flattering to management.
It doesn't matter what the 'purpose' of the organization is - it could be a fire department, it could be a software developer, a washing machine manufacturer, or state bureaucracy - you can use this One Weird Trick to advance up the ladder while everyone else gets shit, because organizations are made out of people, and most people are status conscious, and will respond positively to support, even unconsciously. They will look at everything you do in a more charitable light. They will think of you as more reliable, more trustworthy, more competent.

And this same dynamic applies in the opposite way as well.

If a superior feels like someone is insufficiently respectful of them, if they feel slighted, snubbed, or subverted, then they will find themselves in a world of shit from all sides. No matter who you are or how 'good' at your 'job' you are, something only the naive sleepers care about, excuses will be made to punish you. The impulse comes first, and reasons are found to rationalize it. Every time you hear a boss say things like 'I am open to honest criticism and pushback', they are lying.

Some of the same qualities that made Zaion fun to watch also made her clash with management, and at the end of the day, there's no surviving that.
