I've always thought it was more so to protect Gura from being then advantage of by the JP girls. Just think, a good portion of Gura's audience in all likelihood just watch her or other EN members. If she were to collab with one of the JP girls, Gura would likely see no benefit while the JP girl would gain a ton of English speaking subs. I'd be willing to bet that after Gura broke 1 mill she was flooded with requests from the JP girls and probably got overwhelmed. When considering how little she speaks Japanese, she probably didn't want to deliver multiple poor quality collab streams.
