I honestly think this was the most high IQ 4D chess move I've seen from Cover management in all my time in this hobby.
Mori wanted a label sooo badly, but obviously she wanted it with her roommate. This is a compromise she had to make, and SHE thinks that after the Mori-UMG contract expires, she can move away from Holo and then re-sign a deal with the label as her RM.
By helping her sign with UMG AS MORI, Cover ensures the following -

> She's split from the BOX, because none of the Holos can Cover her newer songs without getting copyright struck, and UMG songs won't have the "hololive" algorithm.
> Mori will be too busy with making songs and won't have time to join or host many big collabs, reducing her presence in front of the BOX.
> Her soulless UMG songs will still let Cover rake in cash from their cut, but it won't taint their "original song" collections.

In order to separate her from the JPs, they're also putting her FRONT AND CENTRE in some of the main channel programs (stuff that she finds absolutely CRINGE), and it comes off through the screen just how much she DOESN'T want to be there - but she HAS to, because it's an "opportunity". JPs can read the mood.

She's basically being promoted out of the workflow, and the groundwork is being set up so that her eventual graduation will not hurt the brand or the talents as much.
